WHEN IS VIOLENCE 'MINDLESS' AND WHEN IS IT NOT?
This is a vexed question of taxonomy, for our liberal elite. Luckily, one answerable by an appeal to their profound political and social philosophy:
Utter hypocrisy and vacuous irresponsibility.
7/6/2020: George Floyd death in the USA: 14 police officers hurt as violence erupts at anti-racism protest in London, organised by Black Lives Matter.
9/6/2020: Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer takes the knee in support of Black Lives Matter.
No one describes the London riots as mindless (i.e. without reason).
July 2024: Romany riots, in Leeds. Promises of more money and a statement applauding their vast cultural contribution. Leeds council launches an urgent review into 'legitimate grievances and cultural concerns.’ Many articles in liberal papers about the discrimination suffered by this community.
No one describes the Leeds riots as mindless.
Late July 2024: Three young girls slaughtered by a second-generation Rwandan immigrant, in Southport. A knife attack of the type regularly happening throughout Europe. Two weeks earlier, a British soldier narrowly escaped a similar fate.
Violent rioting erupts. Full police crackdown on ‘far right white thugs’. Media blackout on name and religion of killer (name now released and an odd statement that ‘Islam is not relevant’ to the crime). So, the perpetrator may or may not be Muslim. On past occasions, this detail has been signalled by obfuscation and immediate claims of ‘mental illness.’ In any case, there have undeniably been frequent Islamist attacks using knives and swords - a Conservative MP David Amess was killed in one such. Significantly, there was very little discussion of the motivation for that, it being deliberately conflated with online anger and rampant knife violence.
Unlike the Islamic Manchester Arena child-slaughter of 2017, we’re at least spared calls of ‘don’t look back in anger’ after Southport.
Next Day, July 2024: Keir Starmer declares the rioting is mindless thuggery. Confusingly though, the rioters are all linked - they’re ‘far right’. He vows to deal with this - but seems unconcerned by the other rioting. He made no statements to the nation following the Leeds lawlessness.
In all the numerous Islamist attacks, here and in Europe, I’ve never heard any politician or broadcaster make such a clear linkage to their cause: Islam. If it is discussed, there are lengthy reminders that most Muslims are non-violent.
No such qualification is made by Starmer, that most ‘right wing people’ - possibly about 40 to 50% of the British electorate - are similarly law-abiding and peaceful. Presumably because - as his fellow-kneeler Rayner describes them - they’re ‘Tory scum’.
Small wonder Starmer was jeered in Southport when he laid flowers, with many shouting reminders of the thousands he (as DPP) abandoned to their grooming and gang-rape fate. He turned his back on the clearly furious locals. Their most telling remark was: ‘Got your photos, Keir? Off you go then.’ He later labelled them as violent thugs and mindless hooligans. A petty and puerile attack, on ordinary but outraged people who’d made him choke on his avocado dip. What a truly despicable man.
In summary: the rioting in response to Southport is caused by the inherent evil of the right, which - by implication - is far more serious than the horrific crimes which anyway didn’t cause it. People angered by little dancing kids sliced up are ‘exploiting the situation.’ Their anger is both inexplicable and the most serious issue facing this country. The oxymoronic incoherence is ridiculous.
The truth? We’re undergoing a descent into sectarian political violence, caused by the catastrophic failures of our liberal elite to address legitimate concerns about demographic change, labelling those worried as ‘racist’ and ‘far right’. The denial process that got us here is now being continued.
Utterly predictably, thugs on all sides are now battling it out. Yes, there are ‘far right thugs’. But the anger felt everywhere isn’t being acknowledged, by the irresponsible virtue-signaller Starmer. Instead, he’s going to ‘clamp down’ on the inevitable backlash. Just as he totally ignored the grooming scandal (and Jimmy Savile), preferring to attack those who saw what was going on.
It’s a moot point whether this was always the plan, or the progressives are now finally and in panic realising what they’ve created. Either way, serious and worsening political violence is inevitable.
Thank God those responsible are now - nominally - in charge.

How quickly did the stabbing of the solider disappear from the news. I wonder if the Army cares about that? If they won’t act when one of their own is stabbed in the middle of the day just outside his barracks what hope does the rest of the country have? Mental ill health of course, nothing to do with Islam. Therefore it’s fine and can be excused. Let’s just wait for the next one. I don’t imagine we’ll have to wait long.
