Compelling reading Paul. A real cloak and dagger story of a shameful episode in the modern history of the UK. You’ve lifted a veil of secrecy that the state have had in place for 21 years which has bothered many of us for that time. Your explanation fits all the gaps in knowledge and is very plausible. Maybe the final stamp of truth is applied by the 70 year embargo on this story. I won’t be around by my guess is that when 70 years are up another embargo will apply like JFK. Thank you for this investigation Paul.
Glad it was useful, but I've really just put together bits from the book and then theories I've seen online - too many over the years! As you say, the 70 year embargo on his post-mortem is very odd and revealing.
As with 9/11 and Covid, it was blindingly obvious to me that the 'official narrative' didn't stack up. I'm not sure why so many people fail to see what's right in front of them in plain sight.
A nice piece Paul, plenty of detail there and of course local to us. I did wonder why that van appeared outside your house in the wee small hours the other night...
I reckon he was pulled in by the ‘secret service’ given a serious grilling and had some sort of massive medical event- like coronary, stroke , aneurysm etc - the rest is so ‘murky’ I can smell it from here- all the points you’ve made are correct and part of the ‘murk’ . Why on earth did the state make such a complex and seriously dodgy cover up- being honest would have been so much easier, a lot less of an honourable excuse than the reality. But the murk and the discussions about it ,continues to nicely throw the focus away from the truth. We/those who ask question are then nicely smeared as nut job conspiracy theorists. All the documents relating to the truth will never see the light of day permanently’embargoed’ like Kennedy’s and then be lost in an ‘accidental’ fire
They (probably rightly) knew that the pressure on Blair et al would be impossible, if it was known he'd died under interrogation.
The head of the JIC (John Scarlett) was already on record weeks earlier, in saying Kelly should have a very tough and rigorous 'secret service' interview! They couldn't have faced down him dying under one.
And presumably if Blair et al wanted to shift all the blame, onto the security services, then they'd know enough (about all the dodgy dossiers etc) to take Blair down with them. Who knows - maybe the coverup happened without Blair's go ahead? But it seems impossible for them to have survived just coming out and saying:
'Very sadly, Dr Kelly died under interrogation in an MoD facility.'
Absolutely fascinating, and thanks. I knew next to none of that I am ashamed to say. The dentist element of that is extraordinary; how is it not more widely known and discussed? I’m tempted to go on a lengthy rant about Blair and Campbell but what would be the point? How they got away with things that would have landed the rest of us in prison is beyond me. That Blair continues to thrive and prosper post Chilcot finding against him is a national disgrace. And why people take his WEF ravings and his ridiculous ‘institute’ seriously speak volumes about how low-IQ our supposed betters actually are.
Glad it was new - I worried this was all 'old hat'! It's an incredible story. The theory I favour (not really mine as cobbled together from others) isn't perfect, but it addresses the holes in the official narrative. The so-called Hutton enquiry didn't even require witnesses to speak the truth! It was a disgrace that this could be Kelly's supposed inquest.
No, no! Not old hat at all. At least, it wasn’t to me. I’d wager that theory is on the money. You’re absolutely right about the enquiry. Very sinister indeed. Initially I was surprised that this could have dropped out of the news and mainstream discussion, but it isn’t surprising at all. Imagine the pressure applied, and the threats, from on high.
I’m not very good at following plots in films & often have to watch them twice to get it (that only applies to films made before let’s say the year 2000 -I don’t think one worth watching has been made since then).
What I don’t get with your analysis is: Why would they have to go to the trouble to stage a suicide if he had a heart attack?
You mean why not dump him at Harrowdown Hill without the wrist slashing? I think they'd have worried that was too weak, and that the cause of death would seem less obvious - so they couldn't avoid a very detailed autopsy. I suspect that would have shown signs of attempted resuscitation. In fact, I think one of the team who found him thought he'd previously had some sort of mask over his face - from marks on it. That would of course mean he hadn't just died alone of a heart attack.
Oh sorry Paul - What I mean is: you think he might’ve had a heart attack- a natural death, whilst walking the dog. If so what would be the point of dragging his body around & staging a suicide?
Kelly dying of natural causes would be a stroke of luck for those he was exposing. Why get involved at all?
No, I'm NOT saying he had it out walking. He had it in an MoD office and they then dumped the body - with signs on it of resuscitation. Anyway, it would look too convenient if he'd just dropped dead out on a walk, Hence the staged suicide.
Thanks Pete! To me the dentist thing is so telling - and the death certificate. I wonder if they simply couldn't get someone to sign it with the location of his body as the place of death? Seems odd, but then why not have Harrowdown Hill as the location? It's possible it's a very telling mistake...
Another example of this sort of smoke and mirrors is the Schripols!! What a web of 💩the state has pushed out. These 2 were up to thier necks in fentanyl- pissed some part of the layer cake off and got a visit from the ‘enforcers’ . The woman who died when ‘novochock ‘ was found a’accidentally’ in the bin was a fentanyl overdose as she saw / witnessed what happened to the schipols. Do Salisbury council never empty thier bins!!!
I remember very clearly on old ‘central news’ piece “ interview with first on scene paramedics. “ no blood seen anywhere around the site” that interview I think only ever aired once , never heard of again- if somebody had died with arterial wrist bleeding it would have been absolutely everywhere probably at least 3/4 pints!
Much discussion of this in the book I reference. Opinion divided. More medical consensus that the artery he cut wouldn't be one severed in a suicide. Occurs hardly ever.

Thanks Ted - I'll keep away from Oxfordshire's woods, that's for sure!
The men in black🕴🏻

Scarlett went on to be head of MI6.
What comes to mind is the infamous “make him an offer he can’t refuse” for Kelly. Statecraft knows no bounds to clear the guilty of any blame

Sounds like some of the inspiration for Mick Herron's Slough House series.
Funnily enough, my wife is reading one at the moment!

Great piece of journalism Pete thanks.

Hi Rose - -I'm Paul by the way!

Oh yes I see!
Good job Paul.
Thanks!
Brilliant piece, Paul. The stench from the Kelly affair is overwhelming.

My next true-crime post will be on the Skripals!
