THE MANAGERIAL APOTHEOSIS
I published this exactly a year ago. And lordy, it’s aged well! I say that without much satisfaction. Fact is, Starmer is less believable than Baron Munchausen:
One has to try and take positives. But there seem none about Starmer, except fascination with the universal loathing he inspires. By a long way, he's the most hated figure this country has produced in my lifetime - and I'm 61.
Not hyperbole. I've never heard anything like it! Sure, lefties ranted about 'Thatch', but that was performative child's play compared with reactions to Free Gear. He's way more hated than - oh - Fred West, Fred Shipman - possibly even the Moors Murderers.
Irrational, but then by definition we are irrational, in our visceral responses. What's so notable is that he's not 'marmite.' Even those who profess to like him don't. I think the violence of reaction is easy to explain: he's fucking terrifying, in his relentless automaton inhumanity. Never more so than when he’s lecturing us on how imperfect everyone else is.
He seems to reify every element of unbearableness. Nails on a blackboard, polystyrene squeaking: one cannot tolerate them. Making those things stop overrides all else. Ditto for Starmer.
The devil himself wouldn’t wipe his arse on this wretch.
Most people cannot bear even hearing him speak or seeing his image.
I'm one: I haven't heard his voice for many months, nor watched any clips. His very existence in itself is horrible, a national malaise. He's the apotheosis of everything piled up from managerialism, liberal-elitism and the queasy middle-class Waitrose world of fake-sophistication, snobbery and ennui. He represents the vast social schism progressives have created. I say ‘created’, because there's little linkage to England’s previous class divides.
No need to mention 'woke'; though of course he's the poster-boy for that.
