As recent events in London (and the Commons) show, our democracy is now in thrall to violent Islamic extremists. As ever, the denials are just confirming the truth. For example, some MP has now had to apologise for saying the obvious truth that areas of London and Birmingham are no-go for non Muslims. But they are. I was in Tower Hamlets and I saw signs up declaring it alcohol-free and informing women that they had to dress 'with modesty and respect.' I asked a policeman outside the nearby tube (Whitechapel) what legal force such notices had - and he said it was a public-order matter based on 'not causing offence;. He then walked off when I said their job was to uphold my (and women's) freedoms!
